Several indicators of ink
1 Interfacial tension:
in mn/m Different from the usual surface tension, the interface tension includes the surrounding medium. For example, most of the detection takes air as the medium. This parameter affects the following performance
a. edge sharpness of printed font 1 Transmission
b. the permeability of ink in paper and other media
the fluidity of ink in ink cartridges. The range of common ink interfacial tension values: Epson and Canon black and color ink 34 mn/m @ 20 C, HP and l as a polyolefin processor, mark black ink 50 mn/m @ 20 C, HP and Lexmark color ink 34 mn/m @ 20 C
use ink with low interfacial tension: the ink drops are small, and the ink will penetrate deeper into paper or other media Use the ink with high interfacial tension: the ink drop is large and the permeability to the medium is small However, too high interfacial tension will cause a lot of foam, and such ink is also unqualified
2 viscosity:
viscosity will affect the following properties of ink:
a. the edge sharpness of print fonts and the permeability of ink in paper and other media
b. the fluidity of ink in ink cartridges (especially ink cartridges with sponges, such as HP color ink cartridges and Lexmark Black/color ink cartridges)
c. blocking of ink flow (if the ink viscosity is too high, the ink flow will be completely blocked)
3. PH value
a. if the pH value is too low (acidic), the ink will corrode the ink cartridge
b. if the pH value is too high (alkaline), additional salt will be generated and exercise will reduce the service life (corrosion) of the ink cartridge and improve the conductivity
c. in order to ensure the good stability of the ink, the pH value of the ink must be equivalent to the pH value required by the dye
4 Conductivity:
in ink, the conductivity value is used to reflect the salt content. This parameter is affected by the following factors:
a. the salt in water/ink (such as sodium chloride) will damage the ink cartridge and even make the ink cartridge invalid
B. the ionic nature of the dye will not damage the ink cartridge like salt
generally speaking, the salt content should not exceed 0.5%, and the conductivity should be less than 10000us/cm;, To avoid crystallization in the nozzle
5. Density and particle size:
this parameter is affected by the composition of the ink
a. the density of dye ink is mostly between 1.00 and 1.03
b. the density of pigment ink is about 1.04 The particle size of ink should be less than 0.2um
